Ride along on a laser-guided bombing mission and see the jets in action at Shaw AFB, S.C.
F-16CJ, serial # 98-0003, of the 55th Fighter Squadron sits under a sunshade shelter while pulling alert duty at Shaw AFB, S.C. Other f-16s can be seen taxing toward the runway in the background. Following Sept. 11th, F-16s from Shaw flew Combat Air Patrol and Alert missions from the base until the mission was delegated to the ANG. ANG operations from Shaw ended in August 2006 when the Vertont ANG F-16s were shifted North to Langley AFB, Va.
