AT-38C Talon, serial # 68-8165, in-flight over Georgia during a training mission from Moody AFB. The jet is assigned to the 479th Flying Training Group, which will be dissolved soon as a result of the 2005 BRAC recommendations. All 479th training aircraft will be dispersed to AETC bases throughout the country. AT-38Cs of the 479th FTG are the only T-38Cs within AETC that wear an F-16 style paint scheme. The F-16 paint scheme furthers the mindset that the student pilots are no longer operating training aircraft, but because they are in the Introduction to Fighter Fundaments (IFF) program, they are now flying tactical aircraft. The paint scheme is applied in gloss colors for ease of maintenance. Copyright 2006, Greg L. Davis, Aviation Photojournalist. cactusinburner@yahoo.com
